Les deux approches ont du mérite — et des limites. La tonte aléatoire est omnidirectionnelle, ce qui est bon pour le gazon : pas de lignes de stress répétées, pas de biais de direction. Mais le hasard pur ne distingue pas une zone qui a besoin d'attention d'une qui va bien. La tonte en bandes traite chaque mètre carré de manière identique — efficace, mais aveugle à la réalité biologique. Volta part des besoins réels de la pelouse : une carte de cellules hexagonales de densité de croissance et de condition, mise à jour en continu par la vision. Puis il se déplace de manière omnidirectionnelle — comme une main experte massant chaque zone dans la juste mesure, ni plus, ni moins.
Volta cartographie votre pelouse comme une grille de cellules hexagonales, chacune portant son propre état biologique — densité de croissance, condition visuelle, temps écoulé depuis le dernier passage.
